Addressing Employee Mental Health at Work - Necessary Employer, Manager & HR Responsibilities For Legal Compliance

Webinar Background :

The workplace has become a significant source of stress due to high demands, long hours, and tight deadlines. This stress can negatively impact employees' mental health, leading to reduced productivity, increased absenteeism, and even physical health issues. Employers have a duty to foster a supportive and inclusive environment that prioritizes mental health. Mental Health America reports that 19.86% of adults are currently experiencing mental illness, which is nearly 50 million Americans, with 4.91% suffering from severe mental illness. Issues like drug overdoses, suicides, domestic violence, workplace violence, and burnout are on the rise and are evident in the workplace, whether employees are on-site or working remotely. We are facing a mental health crisis, and this program will address the wide range of mental health challenges. We will provide statistics, resources, relevant laws, and ideas for accommodations. We will also cover the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and workers’ compensation, along with effective practices and strategies for managing these discussions with employees.
